THE SANDY GUNN ACP ANNUAL REVIEW - 2020/2021
Updated: Nov 20
As 2021 marks the very beginning of space tourism – and also the 80th anniversary of the first flight of Spitfire PR.IV AA810 – we welcome readers to the second edition of the Sandy Gunn Aerospace Careers Programme Annual Review. First, however, if you are new to Project AA810 you are recommended to read the 2019/20 Review, and subsequent three Newsletters, all of which can be found on this website, because that first edition forms the foundation of all further Reviews and Newsletters.
The 2020/21 Review follows the format and subject matter of those Newsletters, but also introduces the fifth industrial revolution which is now beginning to develop concurrently with the ongoing fourth revolution. It also brings all sections up-to-date at the end of its 12-month coverage, and provides expert comment and forecasts for 2022.
We sincerely hope that all readers find this Review informative, helpful and enjoyable, and if you have any questions, or would like to discuss sponsorship/support of the Sandy Gunn Aerospace Careers Programme Charity (#1190721) please do contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Finally, with the environment being a particularly high-profile topic this year, we leave the last word to Stan Deal, President Boeing Commercial Airplanes: “Sustainable fuels are the safest and most measurable solution to reduce aviation carbon emissions in the coming decades. We're committed to ensuring our airplanes and eventually our industry can fly entirely on sustainable jet fuels. All our commercial aircraft will be able to run on sustainable fuel by 2030, in doing so we believe we can reduce carbon emissions by up to 80pc.”
